"Does all of this relate to my saying things about philosophy?" asked Youth.
"Yes, I think it does."
"Do you think I speak about philosophy the same way to friends as to enemies?"
"Yes. I've seen you do it on more than one occasion."
"But you don't."
"No, I don't."
"But you let enemies think that you do?"
"Yes."
"So you lie, essentially."
"Yes, Youth. I lie to enemies."
"And you're telling me this because I'm your friend."
"Yes, and because I think it will help you."
"How?"
"You think it's good to always tell the truth."
Youth frowned. "You're right. I do." He chewed his lip. "It's not good to tell too much truth to enemies, is it?
"No, it's not."
