"That's where I need to be rude, isn't it - where they keep on inviting me to join them for something or other?" asked Therapist.
"Yes."
"It's a shame I got all tangled up with these enemies in the first place."
"Don't be down, friend. We all get tangled up with enemies, or partial enemies, at times. Life is messy. But we can do a lot to clean it up."
"I'm going to start now."
"Good! What will you do?"
"I've had an email in my inbox for three days now, from someone I now see as at least a partial enemy. I'm just going to delete it and not reply. Have you ever done that?"
"Oh, I've not replied to people. Friends and enemies both."
"Why friends? Have they turned partial enemy"
"Some have, and some have turned partial to completely neutral. The rest are still friends."
"You just don't want to spend time with them, even though they are friends?"
"Sometimes that's what seems best."
"I don't understand."
"Sometimes people come into your life for a time for a reason. When that reason's gone, so is your time with that person. This holds for friends, neutrals, and enemies. Hanging on does no good to anyone."
"My time with my enemies has come to an end. The time of friends has begun!"
