"You don't want to leave any footprints, ever?" asked Director.
"Not a one that I don't cover over. I don't want anyone to be able to follow me back to my cave."
"I see. But surely you can leave some when you're out and about that don't in any way lead back to your home."
"I suppose."
"People might not even know they are your footprints."
Caveman narrowed his eyes. "I still don't like it." He considered Director for a moment. "What about you? Do you leave footprints going back to your place?"
"I do now, though there was a time when I didn't."
"When you lived in a cave?"
"I didn't live in a cave."
"Where did you live, then?"
"In a house, with windows."
"People could see in."
"Yes."
"How did you not leave footprints when the time was that you didn't?"
"I only traveled over rocks and the roots of trees and covered the rest."
"Yes, that is a good way to travel."
