"Student, you never mentioned anything about a story," said Director.
"I have it here," said Teacher. "Shall I read it?"
"By all means."
"Alright. 'I walked into the classroom and all the mannequins were in their places, dead. I sat in the back. In walked Teacher, alive. He smiled at all the dummies and nodded to me. Class began.'"
"That's the entire story?"
"Yes, I put no length restrictions on the students' work."
"Did his classmates critique this?"
"Oh, yes."
"How did that go?"
"Not as bad as one might imagine. They mostly wanted to know two things - what was different between them and me, and did Student consider himself alive or dead."
"What did you tell them, Student?"
"I told them it wasn't for me to judge whether I'm alive or dead."
"Did they judge?"
"They said they couldn't judge me until they knew what made Teacher alive and them dead. But I refused to say. After that I stopped coming to class."
"What makes me alive and them dead?" asked Teacher.
