"Why have you come to see me?" asked Killer, coolly.
"You don't have many days left," said Director.
"But what do you want?"
"I wanted Student, here, to get to know you a little better. He was rather young when you were sentenced."
Killer looked at Student closely. "They deserved to die."
Student shrugged.
Killer looked at Director. "What, you hope to give him an insight into the criminal mind?"
Director shrugged, but said: "Why don't you tell us what happened?"
"They were making fun of me, and I couldn't take it anymore," said Killer.
"That's it?" Student said in disbelief.
"It went on for a very long time," said Killer by way of explanation. "They were quite cruel."
"Couldn't you have done something short of murder?"
"No."
"So you ruined your life to silence them."
"Yes, and pled guilty to the crimes, too."
Student seemed to be thinking, then asked: "What did they make fun of?"
"My physical appearance and the way I talked."
"Did you look and talk the way you talk now?"
"More or less."
"I don't think there's much to be made fun of."
"They did."
"I wonder if they were the deformed ones, in body and voice," said Student.
"They were indeed," Killer said with a smile. "And they needed to be put out of their misery."
