"One thousand to win on the two horse, please," said Mogul.
Student exhaled noisily. "But I only said I like his name!"
Mogul smiled winningly. "What better to bet upon? 'Virtue'. Who names a horse that?" He laughed then turned back to the betting window. "Hell, put another thousand on him, please." He handed over the additional money then turned to Student and Director. "Now I've obliged him to win."
"And now I see," said Director, "why they call this the sport of kings."
"Which one would you have picked, Director?"
"I liked the seven horse. He winked at me."
Mogul laughed. "Which is more telling - looks or a name?"
"I'll trust my eyes, thank you."
"What did you like about him, Director?" asked Student.
"His thick muscles. His proportions. His healthy sheen. His fiery eye." Director shrugged.
"What's his name?" asked Mogul and gestured toward the program Student held.
"Vice."
"You're kidding! What is it really?"
"Foufoun."
"Foreign, eh? I'll be sure to root against him. Care to place a wager, Director? You haven't bet all night. This is the last race, last chance."
